Our mini farm
"Children develop a superb understanding of healthy lifestyles. For example, they have an exceptional understanding of the hand washing procedures to follow after handling animals" OFSTED 2018

Welcome to Our Mini Farm – Where Little Hands Help and Big Hearts Grow!
At Leaping Frogs, we really love nature – and we’re lucky enough to have our very own Mini Farm right here on site! Set within our beautiful 1.2 acres of countryside, it's a magical place where children learn to care, nurture, and connect with the world around them.
Led by Victoria and her cheerful crew of animal-loving helpers, our little farmers roll up their sleeves and get stuck in! From feeding hungry goats to gently stroking fluffy guinea pigs, there’s always something to do – and someone to cuddle!
Our furry and feathered family includes ponies, goats, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, and even tiny turtles living inside. Each animal has their own special board on their enclosure, so our children can learn fun facts about their favourite friends and discover what they need to stay healthy and happy.
We watch them grow, play, snuggle and snooze – and we learn so much along the way. The Mini Farm isn’t just about animals (although they are very cute!) – it’s about kindness, responsibility, and a love for living things.
Whether we’re collecting eggs, filling up water buckets, or just saying hello with a happy wave, every day brings a new outdoor adventure... and a chance to care for our animal buddies with gentle hands and curious hearts.

We collect the eggs from our free range chickens and watch them as they scout for worms and bugs and take a dip in their pond. We incubate eggs, learning about life-cycles and wait eagerly to see them hatch and observe how quickly they grow. We groom our ponies Blossom & Bluebell with brushes and combs and pick out their hooves, sometimes we tie ribbons in their hair to look pretty.

Our goats, Peanut, Pickle, Cassie and Buster have a climbing frame just like us, they also come out and play with us and lie in the sun looking at books with us too, Pickle's favourite is the 3 Billy Goat's gruff!
We look for tiny wildlife in our meadow garden, we use magnifying glasses and look closely at their little features. We look in our bug hotels and go pond dipping to see what we can find. We look at our wild birds board to see if we can identify and learn about the different kinds of wild birds that visit us to play.
We learn about the importance of washing our hands after playing outside and with the animals and we wash our wellies in the welly baths after visiting all animal enclosures.
